Sen. Daley sends heartfelt message of support to Congressman Kildee

LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Kevin Daley recently sent a heartfelt and personal letter of support to U.S. Rep. Dan Kildee after the Michigan congressman publicly shared news of his cancer diagnosis.

“Congressman Kildee and I have served many of the same communities over our years in public service — we have become long-time friends and bipartisan colleagues,” said Daley, R-Lum. “It is important that we all remember to share compassion where it is needed, and that love must come before the letters that appear after our names.”

In his letter, Daley wrote, “I am at a loss of words except to say I care, and I am thinking of you,” and “I know the strength you have, and I’m pulling for you during recovery.” He also assured Kildee that, “My prayers are with you every step of the way.”

Kildee, D-Flint, recently announced that he was “diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, a serious but curable form of cancer.”
