Sen. Daley issues statement following 2023 State of the State address

LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Kevin Daley, R-Lum, on Wednesday released the following statement after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s 2023 State of the State address:

“It was good to have the governor at the Capitol once again and to hear her thoughts on important issues affecting people across the state.

“Record inflation has resulted in higher costs of living and stretched family budgets in every corner of our state; I look forward to working to provide all Michiganders with the meaningful and immediate tax relief they need.

“It also is important that we continue to support Michigan’s economic growth and guard against any effort to revert to the failed policies that gave us the Lost Decade. Right to Work has opened Michigan to economic investment, provided workers with more choices, and resulted in more good-paying jobs for Michigan families.

“While I will continue to work with the governor and across the aisle on issues that will benefit the people of Michigan and their future, I will also continue to defend against any effort to infringe upon individual Constitutional rights or harm our shared economy.”
